Janet Eileen Wilson

Janet Eileen Wilson, 97, Hayward, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI.

Jan was born on February 23, 1929 in Oak Park, IL to William and LaVeta (Sweat) McLennan.  After graduating from high school, she furthered her education at Bradley University in Peoria, IL to become a Registered Medical Technologist working at various hospitals, clinics and offices until retirement.

Jan met Gary Wilson on a blind date.  Shortly after this Gary was called to serve his country.  They were married at Fort Bliss, TX in 1952.  Gary preceded her in death on December 7, 2018. Jan was active in her retirement, serving on various boards at Hayward United Methodist Church, volunteering at the hospital and the library.  She also enjoyed golfing.

She is survived by her four sons David (Amanda) Wilson, Doug (Carol) Wilson, Dale Wilson, Dean Wilson; grandchildren; Ben, Beth(Kirby),Becca(Kurt),Rachael(Mike) and 5 great grand children.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, and sister Inez.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00am at the Hayward United Methodist Church 10285 N. Olker Rd. Hayward, WI.  A Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hayward.  Memorials may be made in Jan’s name to the Hayward Public Library or to the Hayward United Methodist Church.  Hayward Funeral Home is assisting the family.
